I love seeing a project through from very initial concept to completion. This is the most satisfying thing and what makes me love my job! I believe in designing form around function: I start with the function, and what it needs to achieve, and wrap the design around that concept.
I believe in lifelong learning, making sure I am always informed of new materials and trends. I follow a lot of blogs to keep up with international trends, and I love visiting London to see what’s going on in the world of design. I’m keen on using locally-sourced materials and skills wherever possible, but always keep my eye on innovations from further afield, to ensure that my clients get the most modern and cost-effective solutions possible.
I’m highly motivated, with creative flair and strong conceptual skills, and I have the proven ability to see a project through from detailed design development to the final stages of completion.
I have five solid years experience of managing design, huge budgets, and the implementation of projects, from conception to delivery onsite. As a designer and project manager specialising in commercial catering and retail design, I have the vision and determination to drive projects forwards, always thinking laterally and pragmatically in order to create bespoke solutions to suit tight budgets and deadlines.
Used to discussing design with clients and contractors at every level, my soft skills of clear communication and presentation have stood me in good stead, from boardroom to windy building site. My hard skills in AutoCAD, Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, and Sketch Up are strong and wide-ranging and ensure that I can be an integral part of the entire process of design, planning, building and completion of every project in which I am involved.
